SESSION ACTIVITIES

So far we have explored the elements of a webquest, how to create learning objectives and how to infuse primary and secondary source documents into our instructional practices. In this session, we will create the "meat" of our webquest, which is where your activities will be housed. It is imperative that your activities support your learning objectives and will help the students complete the culminating activity.

Today's tasks include the following:

  • Explore the 26 Teacher Tools to Create Online Assessments and create activities using those applications you think you be most appropriate for your objectives. If you are familiar with a particular online resource, feel free to use it as well. Additional resources include:
  • After you have planned out your developmental activities, update the Process Page of your webquest. You should have at least four developmental activities and keep in mind that since this is an Internet-based quest, your activities should be Internet-based as well. If you are feeling especially adventurous, you can use Ted-Ed to flip your classroom for a particular part of your webquest. Check out the sample lesson plan.

  • Develop your culminating activity, which should be some problem you would like the students to solve by applying the knowledge they have gained from the developmental activities.
    • Make sure to include detailed instructions and a rubric so the students understand what is expected of them.

  • Once you complete your Process Page, share the link in the discussion section below. Happy Creating!!
